Administrative / biographical background:

Opened in 1868 at Hightown by the Wesleyan Methodists. Closed in 1944 and sold in 1959 to Albert E. Chatfield (Crewe) Ltd. The Day and Sunday School associated with the chapel was built in 1870, closed in 1932 and sold with the chapel. Records which relate to all three Wesleyan Schools in Crewe, ie. Earle Street, Hightown, Mill Street, are listed with those of Mill Street Schools, Ref. EMS 54/19/2, 54/21.
